Members of the ACTA Capital team were responsible for the Cheap as Chips investment whilst at Alceon Group.

Cheap as Chips is a discount variety store business headquartered in Adelaide South Australia with a strong regional presence across South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales.

Cheap as Chips’ value-based product proposition across a diverse range of categories, coupled with its large-format stores, differentiates it in the key markets in which it operates. Its recently-launched ecommerce offering will further supplement its 40+ store network and underpin future growth.

Alceon acquired the business in September 2016 from the original founders. The original investment was structured as a management buy-out.

Under Alceon’s ownership to date, Cheap as Chips has seen significant operational improvement and materially grown profitability.
